How to break a fast

"People who don’t apply appropriate principles for fasting end up doing more harm than good to their physical health. They also end up labelling fasting as a physically unhealthy activity. Not true. It’s a powerful healer when done right. Doing it right is where the challenge is –in both spiritual and physical health dimensions." Eric Gondwe, Author of All Fasting Secrets

It is VERY IMPORTANT to break a fast correctly, as you could seriously harm yourself. Here are some basic guidelines, please do more research as well.

Break Fast with a communion
Pray over a small piece of bread (or any wheat based food) & a little water & eat before having your food on the last day of your fast.

How to eat
The stomach has shrunk during your fast so it is very critical to give it time to readjust.
Eat like a baby, as much of blended foods as possible
Try to eat small meals, you will notice you will get full on them too.

What to eat
Carbohydrate based foods
Blended fruit smoothies, mashed sweet potatoes & grain soups.
A good amount of Fiber
Fibrous foods such as vegetable juices, oats and other grain cereals.
For recipes see; Fruit Porridge Recipes, Vegetable Recipes & Whole Grain Recipes.

What NOT to eat
DO NOT EAT PROTEIN as follows;
3 day fast - do not eat protein for 1 complete day
7 day fast - do not eat protein for 2 complete days
