Flax Seed Tea with Almond Milk, a VHE Recipe

Inspired from Eritrea, this tea is drank to break Spiritual Fasts such as the 40 Day (Vegan) Easter Fast. Can be drank hot or cold.

Serve 2
INGREDIENTS
• 2 cups Almond Milk (can be substituted for your favourite milk)
•1/2 inch Cinnamon Stick (or using 1 tsp cinnamon powder gives the tea a rich chocolate look)
•1 tsp All Spice 
• 3 Cardamons 
• 3 Cloves
• 2 tbsp Flax Seed Powder
• 1/4 cup distilled water (tap water can also be used)
• 1 spring of mint to garnish (or any preferred herb)
Optional
•1 tsp coconut sap sweetener (or any preferred sweetener)
•1 pinch salt

DIRECTIONS
• Mix Milk, Cinnamon, Cardamon, Cloves and All Spice in pot and bring to boil (if using salt and sugar, add at this time)
• On the side, mix flax seed powder and cold water to create a creamy smooth batter and add to boiling milk mixture
• Simmer for 5 Minutes and serve
TIPS
• Garnish with mint (or preferred herb)
